Those who want to become forensic investigators must be aware that this science (forensic investigation) is quite old and has roots even in the ancient times. People always needed an expert that could study and interpret the evidence of a murder case and that’s why such a profession started a very long time ago, hundreds of year already. A person doing this kind of work was considered to have profound knowledge of human anatomy, something that was extremely rare especially in the medieval times. Nevertheless, the art of forensic investigations has dramatically developed lately and this science is being of high demand whenever a crime scene somewhere on the world needs the opinion, analysis, interpretation and data comparing of such an expert. This kind of work makes people which have such jobs to always work overtime, to have extraordinary abilities in communication, computers and of course to be emotionally stable and not to interfere psychologically or to be attached to any existing crime scene case out there. Without having the above mentioned skills the science practiced by forensic investigators would have disappeared a long time ago. This “cold blooded” attitude gives them the chance to properly analyze various murder situations and to determine the spectrum of actions based on which the crime evolved. That’s why, nowadays, when dealing with cruel and ferocious crimes where it’s pretty hard to explain what really happened, a good team of forensic investigators is called to study the case and interpret the evidence.
It’s their duty the partially or even totally (when something like this is possible) to reconstruct the scene of the crime, making it easy for the police to determine what really happened at that place. While the majority of detectives that work in the intelligence agencies are also pretty smart, they don’t have the necessary experience and anatomy knowledge that an expert calling himself a forensic investigator does. That’s why without forensic investigators and their science the unveiling of thousand of crimes and the arresting of thousands of dangerous serial murders would not have been possible even to this particular day. They are doing a great job and are on high demand in most agencies that deal with this kind of research. The other aspect of their type of work consists of gathering evidence, data which helps them dramatically in rebuilding the crime scene and understanding what really happened. Without something like this it is extremely difficult to become close to the reality of the crime and to realize what intentions did the murderer have and to establish a logical connection between multiple existing crimes (of a serial killer for example) or to exclude this probability. Nevertheless, when gathering evidence from the scene of the crime, a forensic investigator always have to be extremely attentive to properly document each finding, each item, each little “particle of dust”. Those people that are doing it consider it rather boring, but it is that part of the work without which you won’t be able to properly analyze the murder data and to process it.
Basically you are the person that makes the difference when it comes to the actual demystification of the crime. If at least one important part or item that represents an important part of the evidence of the crime is picked up and documented incorrectly, the whole operation can be jeopardized and the potential of letting a dangerous murderer run free on the streets greatly increased. The reason I mentioned this is for you guys to realize about the responsibility that a forensic investigator has. However, besides the responsibility, the stressful mind should be left somewhere far away from this job. Soberness, calmness and justice are the traits that have to dominate in your mind if you want your work to be of real help to the whole murder case scenario investigation. While there are many ways where forensic investigators can obtain practice and experience before actually starting to work professionally, in most of the cases they are a part of a certain policy department, permanently and specially trained to be able to gather the necessary evidence of a crime and easily determine its type plus many other aspects. As mentioned in our previous articles, when working together with the police, forensic investigators are the first persons sent on the crime scene because they need to be able to take pictures and to gather the very important data that might play a crucial role in the further development and murder case solving. Things have to be untouched and left as they are for the forensic investigators to be able to document them properly. There have been plenty of cases when irritated and frustrated officers and detectives got their fingerprints on the wallet of the deceased for example and made a lot of additional work for the investigators necessary in order to surpass their lack of attention and interference with the crime evidence.
Forensic investigators are the only people in an underground police or other intelligence agency labs that are allowed to offer to another detective or investigator, to the court or any other responsible department evidence gathered from the crime scene. No one except them has access to those archives and that’s why the held level of responsibility is that high.
The science practiced by forensic investigators is very old, but extremely important for today’s society. Without their help, the intelligence agencies all over the world would have a really hard time trying to understand the real motifs of a murder in direct relation with the evidence found at the place. An investigator of this type is obliged to move extremely fast and be the first person at the murder scene, no matter if it requires an overtime work schedule or even if he or she is sleeping at three in the morning. There are different situations that such a person has to face when finding a proper job for his level of knowledge. While the work is not easy at all, plenty of people dream of becoming forensic investigators and none of them ever complained about not liking it in the long run. These people are of high demand because not everyone wants to do it, you know, constant murders, dead bodies, getting fingerprints, analyzing them, etc…
