When all the other gathered evidence are not making much sense in connection with a certain (complicated to solve and figure out the answer) crime, forensic investigators are in charge of running DNA testing on anything related or which belonged to the deceased person. This type of investigation and analysis has one main goal: to prove that something organically (blood, secretions of blood, saliva, hair, skin samples, etc) is related in a way or another to the victim or maybe to the criminal itself. DNA testing is done by forensic investigators in case there are a series of murders happening lately and they are required to establish a possible connection between them. In certain cases it might not be even close to a serial killer, but they always have to test this probability by performing the test of DNA. So imagine that they managed to find some hair at the crime scene that doesn’t belong to the victim or to anyone that might have a connection with the case. When something like this happens, they immediately are required to do the test and compare the results with a huge library of DNA code that is archived in their data bases. Every human being has a different DNA code and if it is required, it can be easily processed and analyzed in order to be able to easily find him afterward. Nevertheless, this mostly happens in cases of serious murders and serial killers that have been sentenced to either death or prison when caught for their crimes. The DNA test can also make the connection between any family members. It is well known that this kind of information can also lead to very interesting results during an investigation.

Forensic investigators are responsible for the results provided by the test of DNA taken from any physical evidence found at the crime spot. When dealing with the DNA of the victim, this is usually done when the body was intentionally thrown in a car crash and it is impossible to reveal its real identity. Criminals are not stupid as well and they know how to put investigators on fire when it comes to a premeditated murder. In this case, the DNA test can reveal those genetic markers of the victim that could at least lead to the discovery of the blood type of the victim and maybe even other important parts of information. DNA tests can be performed on anything that is made of something organically and can be of great help when dealing with various types of crimes. Investigators that know how DNA testing is made when dealing with this type of evidence are of high demand and they are required to correctly perform their work, otherwise they have the chance to ruin the whole operation. No matter what other think, working as a forensic investigator is extremely interesting and becoming one is also quite a challenge. I’ve mentioned before that not anyone can support this mental and physical pressure all day long, that’s why this type of work is not created for the average individual who hasn’t seen anything in his or her life except a desktop office, a TV and his cup of coffee. Many wonder what is being and working forensic investigator like.

Not everyone is accepted to activate in this field. The required level of knowledge, experience and skills is so high that even people who proved to be good students at college and university and have a degree in Criminal Justice or something similar aren’t even close sometimes in becoming a real forensic investigator. The abilities required for a person who is trying to get such a job represent a large scale, from being able to work with high technologies, digital photography and computers to having a cold blooded attitude when gathering murder evidence from deceased people and correctly documenting those and writing reports. The knowledge required to the study of DNA for example is not for beginners, even though most forensic investigators should have a degree in some medical science, either biology or anatomy. Both aren’t required, but it is a great plus when you prove to be aware of some many aspects of the human life. Believe it or not, but working as a forensic investigator means that you are going to deal with deaths of all kind and only the person who appreciates life and knows a lot about it can discover and demystify some serious criminal cases out there. When criminals are walking free on the streets of your city it means that either they are too good in doing what they do – crimes or the level of professionalism of the local forensic investigators is too weak and they can’t handle the investigations. If there is no one to help, chaos is going to reign supreme in another dark city. However, chances are that a good and honest investigator will come and soon every little crime, murder, assault, rape or rubbery is going to be discovered and people will again be able to safely walk on the streets of their hometown.

This is how important is for a forensic investigator to be able to correctly perform his job, by doing all the analysis wisely, including DNA testing.
